Quality Improvement
The Qualitee 360 experience is based on the emerging concept of Quality Improvement (QI), a real-world data collection methodology that takes place throughout a patient’s entire cycle of care. QI Projects open a new frontier for research, and have positive implications for drug and device manufacturing, publications, insurance pricing formulae, but, most critically, for improving patient outcomes. Rather than using traditional clinical research – data collected in an isolated, controlled setting – employing the QI process allows us to observe on both a local and a global scale how drugs, devices and methods of care affect real patients every day.
Traditional clinical research is based on efforts to eliminate confounding variables. The QI process recognizes that confounding variables not only continue to exist in the real world (where drugs, medical devices and procedures are actually used), but that it is critical to study the data that emerges from real world patient care.
